Acupressure Sessions
Healing Sessions
Acupressure is an ancient healing art developed
in Asia
over 5,000 years ago, using the fingers to press key points on the surface of the skin to stimulate the body's natural self-curative
abilities. When these points are pressed, they release muscular tension and promote the circulation of blood and the body's
life force energy to aid healing. Acupressure use the same points and meridians, but acupuncture employs needles, while acupressure
uses gentle but firm pressure and integrates bodywork therapies, therapeutic touch, somatic work, healing imagery, energy
psychology, and massage therapy techniques.
Advantages of Acupressure include relieving pain, balancing the body, and maintaining good
health. Acupressure's healing touch reduces tension, increases circulation, and enables the body to relax deeply. By relieving
stress, acupressure therapy strengthens resistance to disease and promotes wellness.
Reiki Benefits
Reiki works on the physical, emotional, mental and spritual levels, and can help you enhance every aspect of your life.
This ancient Eastern method of healing uses energy to balance the body and
mind, For example:
- Reiki calms. It reduces stress, and provides deep relaxation,
comfort & peace.
- Reiki may bring spiritual
clarity.
- Reiki offers relief during emotional distress and sorrow. Reiki
helps in the grieving process. It cleans and clears the emotions from being so draining and offers perspective.
- Reiki relieves pain.
- Reiki can improve good blood
circulation
- Reiki can cleanse organs (liver, kidneys, arteries, spleen,
gall bladder, lungs & heart).
- Reiki is safe to treat symptoms of imbalance: chronic and acute
conditions, stress related disorders, conditions related to sinus, menopause, migraine, cystitis, asthma, chronic fatigue,
arthritis, back, sciatica, insomnia and depression.
- Reiki speeds up
recovery from surgery or long-term illness. As it tends to reduce side-effects, it helps in adjusting to medicine/treatment.
For example, Chemo-therapy patients who received Reiki noticed a marked decrease in side effects from treatment. Reiki can
also be put directly in medicine (as well as food and water).
- Reiki purifies environments,
- Reiki helps athletes to heal faster from injury faster and to perform.
Relief from Physical Illness
Reiki provides relief not only from illness but also from trauma, and can be
used for both chronic and acute conditions. Reiki is based on the premise that there is a Universal Life Energy that circulates
throughout the universe and connects all living things. This force has inherent healing powers that know exactly where the
body is damaged. Reiki practitioners act as channels for this energy, enabling it to enter a person’s body and go straight
to the cause of their illness. The energy
works by restoring the body to a state of balance. When this balance is achieved, overall physical health is improved. Wounds heal
faster, bleeding stops more quickly and pain and illness can be reduced. Reiki is frequently used for chronic conditions like asthma, high
blood pressure and arthritis, and can be used for acute conditions like the flu, indigestion and allergies. When done regularly, it can also serve as a preventative measure, maintaining a state of optimum health.
Reiki also strengthens the immune system, which serves as protection against illness and infection. If the immune
system is compromised, people become vulnerable to diseases, bacteria, germs, even stress-induced conditions. Stress may be a major
culprit in many immune-system disorders, but because Reiki helps to bring about balance and harmony within the body, it helps
fortify the immune system and strengthen the body’s defenses.
Healing for the Mind
Much in the same way Reiki works to balance the body, it also balances the mind
and emotions. Regular Reiki treatments can bring about a calmer and more peaceful state of being, in which a person is better
able to cope with everyday stress. This mental balance also enhances learning, memory and mental clarity. In more severe situations,
Reiki can help alleviate mood swings, fear, frustration and even anger.
During a Reiki treatment, the practitioner helps the client recognize and change
negative thought patterns. By helping people pinpoint the underlying cause of their problems, Reiki can make it easier for
them to identify the fears, conditioning and beliefs that cause them emotional pain. Reiki allows the mind to expand, so that
thoughts and emotions buried deep in the subconscious can be brought to the surface. In doing so, it can provide great insight
into deep-rooted mental and emotional problems. With this comes a greater awareness of how one’s mind and emotions work,
which can give people the information they need to help unravel the problems plaguing them. They may even experience sudden
flashes of insight that shed light on the true cause of their mental or emotional disturbance. With this insight, they can
take the first steps toward healing.
A Tool for Spiritual Transformation and Growth
Because Reiki helps bring about inner peace and harmony, it can be valuable tool
in the quest for spiritual growth. Reiki nurtures a calm and relaxed emotional state, which helps clear the mind and provides
greater access to the subconscious. This, in turn, can enhance focus and concentration, and allow insight into the workings
of both the mind and the soul. Meditation an important components of spiritual transformation, is easier when the mind is
clear. This clarity also helps develop intuition, increase self-awareness and makes it easier to hear and follow our own inner
guidance.
With Reiki, personal relationships can also be strengthened and healed. By practicing
Reiki with a loved one, you can heal mental and emotional wounds, work through dysfunction and create a newfound closeness
and intimacy. Because Reiki enhances your capability to love, it can open you up to the people around you and help your relationships
grow. And by improving your capacity for empathy, it allows you to connect with people on a deeper level.
The impact of Reiki can be felt on several levels--from physical healing to inner
peace to improved relationships. Reiki can be an effective way to treat immediate problems, such as physical or mental illness,
but regular treatments can also improve overall health. By helping to maintain a state of physical and emotional balance,
Reiki can not only treat problems, but perhaps even prevent them from ever developing. |
